The Bytes Brothers was a series of books published in the 1980s containing a selection of short stories where two brothers called Barry and Brent solve mysteries arising from real life scenarios with the use of their computer. Each story includes a program listing in BASIC that the reader can run on their own computer to discover the solution to the mystery.
I have only encountered one copy of the books in real life – so presumably they are quite rare – who's owner managed to get the programs working on both QBasic and an MSX.
