Who cares though, Delicate Doily and The Offended Bunch can go jump in a lake.

      Re: Commando Magazines

I have a subscription to Commando. My dad bought me my first, "The Killing Ground" (No. 942) back in 1975 on a Monday at a newsagents at the bottom of Horfield Rd in Bristol as we were walking to my grans after a trip to Bristol Ice Rink (how's that for memory? ). They are probably the last link to the war comics of the past with perhaps the exception of the DC reprints of Sgt Rock, Enemy Ace, The Haunted Tank etc and the recent releases of Major Eazy, Rat Pack and Johnny Red collections from Battle. Totally un-PC which makes them all the better.

Had a few of these myself. Most of mine were probably obtained through swaps at school or the local jumble sale or school fate.A great read and gave us lads a few ideas of what games to play with the action men and toy soldiers of the day.

I was at HMS Raleigh (the navy's training base for ratings) a couple of years back and they still sell Commando comics in the Naafi!
