Paras - aka Paratroop boots.

In the mid 80's at my school the fashion for boys was Doc Marten boots (black with the yellow stitching polished out to black) or Paras.
Paras where German Paratroop boots that had lace hooks not eyes like Docs did. You had to wear them with drainpipe trousers that were a bit short - i.e. they didn't reach your ankle so showed off your boot.

I've still got a pair of Paras, they're a great walking boot and very comfortable and hard wearing.
