70's womens hats

Hi can anyone help me with this. Going to a 70's soul party (think carwash!) & want a hat & accessories (belt/jewellery). I'm getting conflicting opinions on what women wore to discos etc in 70s. Found something called an apple cap - is this the same as a baker boy style hat & is this 60s or 70s? Everyone else will probably be wearing fake afros but thought I'd be different. Any other advice/tips very welcome. Thank you
