    hahwhat a cool story bet ur dd never made that again i bet u reminded him of it often. lol

    semlina was ok but when i had custard with it it was much better sometimes i added sugar to it.yummy.

    but custard with apple tart rhubarb tartor apple crumble wow its heavenly sometimes id mix all of them together with custard still do.

    How about when you could by a box of blancmanges possibly by birds,there was strawberry,tangerine,vanilla and raspberry flavours

    Wow lots of em iforgot i tried and liked like stewed apple with a bit of sugar heh.
    Jam roly poly as well.

    Id have had jelly with custard.

    off the top of my head these are my childhood favourites...

    hot or cold puddings:
    semolina with jam (or ground rice)
    chocolate semolina (or ground rice)
    treacle tart
    egg custard
    fruit pies -- apple, bilberry, mince, etc.
    Stewed apple
    coconut and jam sponge

    hot puddings:
    jam roly poly
    spotted dick
    other steamed puddings:
    sponge
    treacle
    syrup
    ginger
    lemon
    fruit
    christmas
    apple crumble also blackberry and apple, etc.
    Rice pudding (never any left over to eat cold)
    bread and butter pudding
    soufflé and soufflé omelette with jam
    pancakes

    cold puddings:
    banana custard
    lemon pudding
    jelly
    fruit salad
    apple, gooseberry, strawberry fool
    apple charlotte
    blancmange
    junket
    trifle -- but only for very special occasions!

    Of course hot puds were mostly served with custard or white sauce, never cream which was pure luxury.

    I do not believe my mother ever served a bought pudding in her entire life. As for granny... at the very thought! All our puds were home made.
    Off the top of my head these are my childhood favourites...

    Hot or cold puddings:
    Semolina with jam (or ground rice)
    Chocolate semolina (or ground rice)
    Treacle tart
    Egg custard
    Fruit pies -- apple, bilberry, mince, etc.
    Stewed apple
    Coconut and jam sponge

    Hot puddings:
    Jam roly poly
    Spotted dick
    Other steamed puddings:
    Sponge
    Treacle
    Syrup
    Ginger
    Lemon
    Fruit
    Christmas
    Apple crumble also blackberry and apple, etc.

    When I was a kid in my eyes rhubarb was yucky but now love rhubarb crumble or pies

    Cheese or jam fritters which are sandwiches dropped in the deep fat fryer; or fried in the frying pan. Also as you see sometimes today: deep fried Marsbars More of a Scottish delicacy I believe
