Netto are/were a Scandanavian supermarket chain which expanded over here to the UK during the late 80s/early 90s and had a black on yellow logo which featured a scotty dog.
Ulrika Johnson appeared in their adverts in the late 90s. My neearest one (which I work at but not for much longer the way things're going) opened in 1991 (I think). They were well known for their cheap prices and special offers, known as spot lines. I only found out that they'd been taken over by ASDA on Digital Spy'S (WWW.DIGITALSPY.COM) forum while I was of for the refit last year. A lot of people in the Whalley range are of Manchester (especially on Withington Road heading up to Chorlton)'ll miss the place when it closes down/gets taken over (if not, some people'll be sad to see it close down and there's some great take aways on Withington Road), resulting in a few redundancies.
