From waltztime to rock 'n' roll, this could be the story of popular music in Britain. Ed Kassner's career began in Vienna before World War II, but Vera Lynn gave him his first success when she sang How Lucky You Are on the Forces' Network.
One of the last great independent music publishers, he was later responsible for bringing Bill Haley and his Rock Around the Clock to Britain, introducing us to a new musical craze.
Kassner talks about his life and music with Bob Holness, who plays songs from a catalogue of over 10,000 - including Bobby's Girl, Portrait of My Love and With These Hands.
