Extravaganza
Radio 1 devotes the rest of the day to the UK's best-known music festival - Glastonbury. With a site that spans 700 acres and capacity for 55,000 tents, plus 45,000 cars, this is the country's largest outdoor event. This year there are a total of 17 stages, which play host to over 1,000 performers - the details of which have yet to be confirmed at the time of going to press. What can be assured though, is that Radio 1 will have the very best exclusive coverage of the entire event. Jo Whiley , Steve Lamacq , John Peel,
Mary Anne Hobbs , Danny Rampling and Annie Nightingale are all putting up their tents to cover the festival and there is further coverage tomorrow at
12.30pm and 8pm.
BBC2 also has highlights of the festival throughout the weekend # John Peel: page 9
