with an appreciation of Stevie Wonder
' He was certainly one of the most important black composer/performers of all time, perhaps the most important. His versatility both in terms of composition and in the playing of instruments is unrivalled. He's had 22 Top Ten hit records in the USA - more than anyone else except Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Slevie
Wonder burst on the scene with a live recording " Fingertips made when he was 12 years old. As a teenager he was a good maker of pop songs and then he won his freedom within the structure of Motown and produced. wrote and performed a classic series of LPS in the early 70s. He stumbled with the soundtrack called " The secret life of plants " over which he took far too much time and during which the spontaneity and melody of his music was lost, but he returned in brilliant form with his latest album " Hotter than July ".'
