      Football is back with Wembley staging the traditional curtain-raiser to the season, the Charity Shield, between League champions Everton and FA Cup holders Manchester United.
      In cricket the Australians are at headquarters to face Middlesex and there's a full set of Britannic Assurance Championship matches. The golf events are the Glasgow Classic and the US PGA and from the relative calm of Cowes the famous Fastnet
      Race is due to start at around 5.30 pm.
