Lot's of us carry an organ donor card, so when we die, our organs can be harvested & donated to someone, requiring an organ to carry on living
Nowadays you can donate a living kidney whilst you are still alive
That way you know your kidney is going to help someone
The only trouble donating a living kidney it is anonymous
But there is a website where you can register as a potential donor and potential recipients register too
You can find someone who is a match; either potential donor/recipient and arrange to meet as a match & the donation to take place
I actually met a guy in the US & we were a match
But the US CBP would not let me enter the UK with a criminal record
If the guy had have been well enough to travel here that would have solved the problem & the transfer could have gone ahead
But US CBP said no
