    My mother had one of these and it was a genuine wind-up anniversary clock which was supposed to run for a year without requiring winding up. She bought it in Hong Kong in the late 50s and twas damaged during transportation back to the UK. she got it "fixed" in the 80's and I think it ran for a fortnight, never to run again!! Complete waste of time!
