  • Ten Pole Tudor

Ten Pole Tudor is a punk singer

Probably his most well known song being Swords of a Thousand Men

Ten Pole also appeared in the Sex Pistol's movie The Rock'n'Roll Swindle as the guy serving in the cinema foyer

He sang "Who Killed Bambi?" (If you want my opinion I say it was that annoying bunny Thumper. Apparently he thumped Bambi too hard in the face that poor wickle Bambi kicked the bucket lol)

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

I Remember "Swords of a Thousand Men" and "Wunderbar". Good fun!

I thought that Ten Pole Tudor was a group rather than the name of the actual singer.
Telling it almost exactly like it was so many years later - and proud of doing so!

Ditto. Apart from Swords of a Thousand Men, I don't think I could name another of his songs.

On the other hand, I thought that Blondie, T'Pau etc were the names of the actual singers rather than the group...

Now Who Killed Bambi? has stirred memories but I'm afraid the others haven't. I expect some or all will be on Youtube, so I will have a look. Thanks for listing them.

It's amazing that I had never made that connection until seeing this thread.

I thought he was good at it it too. Just unfortunate he had such big shoes to fill.

Funnily enough I was listening to Wunderbar the other day. I still can't make out what Ed is singing in the song apart from the chorus and telling me about a nuclear war. Is it just me finding it hard to understand? I've always thought Ed was drunk recording the song.
