Me too; the remake wasn't a patch on the original with Rod Taylor.
Of course there was more in the film than the book as wasn't the book written in the 1900's? So the changing fashions and the cars etc. wouldn't have been known about by the author as he could only guess what was to come by way of fashion, transport etc.sigpic
Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Rod was great in the time machne.
Didnt even know they did a remake of it.
Guess that says how bad it was.
Rod always brought great presence to anything he did.
