I was hoping that he would put the "Century" in Sale of the Century - after all, "Sale of the 96 Years" doesn't scan, does it?
Parsons was probably Anglia TV's biggest star (save for the high-profile actors who used to appear in Tales of the Unexpected). Although he came from Grantham just like Margaret Thatcher, his politics was somewhat different to the Iron Lady.
Last time I heard him on air was when he was doing Just a Minute at the start of September last year when I was travelling from Bournemouth to Plymouth on the National Express coach with Radio 4 on the DAB radio - made the journey a bit more bearable!

It would be interesting who will replace him on Just a Minute - I hope it won't be axed.

I saw a great SOTC from 1983 on YouTube yesterday as a tribute to the man himself, with some great Central continuity preceding it, and an ad break from back then. I think it was shown in the Bullseye slot on Sundays in its final series in the Central region at least.

Ironic that he died in 2020 - a year which would have been a repetition of "20" if it had been talked about on Just a Minute.
