With the recent death of Zippy's puppeteer earlier on this year, one has to pay tribute to the first actor to grace the big brown bear costume who answered to the name of Bungle. John Leeson, (born John Ducker) has died. He mostly worked with David Cook who was Rainbow's first human presenter, although of course, my era of the 1980s, Bungle happened to be played by Stanley Bates, who around the 30th anniversary, made the news when he was involved in a road rage incident. I suppose that Leesons had to be learnt, if you know what I mean...
