Who had a paper round etc. as a kid?
I did & also went on to work in the paper shop which I did the paper round for
Then in the Summer holidays I helped the bin men after I helped on the local milk
round. Nowadays under H&S legislation kids are not allowed to help on milk rounds etc
Anyway for the paper round I earned £1.50 a week (the standard pay back then for paper rounds. For the shop work I earned fish & chips from the shopkeeper Miss Morgan. Also there was that teacher I have mentioned elsewhere who picked me up sometimes when I was hitch hiking home from school. The bin men paid me breakfast
