  • Singing at Junior school (singing together /time and tune)

Does anyone else remember the BBC radio broadcasts we used to sing along to at school in the 70's?
I used to love the songs and stories in both Singing Together and Time and Tune I remember learning all of my favourite folk songs from these programmes many of which I remember to this day

I am certain that we heard Time and Tune (or it could be the similarly named Time to Move?) on the hi-fi in the school hall circa 1987, but I believe that we heard it on recorded C90s from an earlier date. One week a teacher was concerned that someone had taped over one edition.

It always baffled me when Radio 3 used to repeat schools programmes at 2.00 am or 3.00 am in the morning - radio cassette recorders don't have timers on them as VCRs have (for the Learning Zone and all that), so unless one stays up so late or gets up so early, how can teachers record them from the radio?
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
    I'm having so much fun
