School toilets - did they cause anxiety when one needed to use them?

      They probably had dirt and germs on them which could be seen more on a white surface - probably the same reason why doctors wear white coats and not black ones.

      Even the toilet at home had a black seat on until it was changed in the early 1990s.

        I have encountered plenty of people over the years who do not like black toilet seats because it reminds them of a public toilet.

          Never liked them im doing a course at one of my old schools and used them brought the memories and smells back of un hygfienic toilets.
          And worst of all toilet paper was tracing paper.
