When you mentioned a "do not touch" belt, I thought for a moment that you were referring to a belt which someone was wearing!
I don't remember conveyor belts with that sort of warning on them - it sounds more like something one would get on an escalator.

Do Not Touch Belt
As a kid in the 80s and early 90s, I remember supermarket checkouts would have signs warning you not to put your fingers on the conveyor belt. You don't see these anymore, even though we're now generally more health and safety conscious.
Did they make conveyor belts safer at some point, or did they just realise they weren't that dangerous after all?Tags: None
