Good chance it would still be flying if it'd gone into full production.
Saw an interesting tv prog about cold war fighters and that seemed to suggest the high ups in the Navy were very involved in the cancellation of TSR2. (anyone know what TSR1 was??!!) -

TSRI Fairey Torpedo Spotter Reconnaissance forerunner of the Swordfish, and the TSR.II was the Swordfish prototype. Not official designations but to avoid confusion TSR2 was adopted, apparently. The official planes designation was Vickers-Supermarine Type 571 - TSR2 was the title of the project.Comment
