BMW 2002 I remember as a four door saloon but the ones I have seen on the road since are two door.

    Classic BMWs

From the era when BMW was an exclusive brand of car owned by solicitors and yuppies before it became popular as the chariots of arrogant office workers.

E12 - the first 5 series. Loved by police forces because they were powerful and more reliable than the Rover P6 and the Triumph 2500 were.

E21 - the first 3 series. Only available in 2 doors from a time when BMW was a marginal, and somewhat obscure, brand like Lancia or Saab were.

E23 - the first 7 series. An uncommon, expensive, and slightly exotic executive car.

E24 - the 6 series coupe. Highly prized by BMW enthusiasts with equally high prices for good examples today. A true 1980s classic.

E30 - the second 'classic' 3 series. Now available with 4 doors as well as 2. The 'yuppiemobile' of the 1980s.

E28 - the second 'sharknose' 5 series associated with crooked businessmen and police motorway patrols in the 1980s.

E32 - the second 7 series. Elegant and refined competitor to Mercedes and Jaguar for high fliers in the boom years of the Thatcher decade.

E34 - the third 5 series. More modern and refined than the E28. Bought by bank managers and successful people in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

E36 - the third 3 series. The car that made BMW a mainstream brand in the 1990s for people who previously bought Vauxhall Cavaliers.
