Re: spend or scrooge this xmas

Here in the uk we have a "Give a homeless person a Christmas" appeal. For something like £22 will give one homeless person a Christmas. Christmas dinner, a gift, social company etc etc just like a home from home. That is where my money goes. Christmas is far too commercialised for my liking. I reckon the Jehovah Witnesses have the right idea. They don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays partly because why should you be dictated to buy presents for people. If you love someone you can buy them a gift anytime during the year

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

One all year round scheme is run by Costa Coffee cafe's. When you buy yourself a coffee you can buy a second "Suspended" cup of coffee. This coffee is not made until a homeless person comes in & asks if any suspended coffee's are available. If there are that homeless person gets a free coffee. Far better than dropping money in their hat they have beside them when they are begging. That money could be used for drink or drugs. At least the homeless person gets a coffee to warm themselves up with

There's a Salvation Army charity shop right near my house and their prices are outrageous.
