Visions

My dad has been backwards and forwards from the nursing home to hospitals since he first went into hospital in June with a bad heart and kidney failure.
Lately he has been having visions of hands reaching for him and he thinks somebody is trying to kill him..
Anybody have any opinion as to what visions like that might mean?
