A short Story.
Brian pulled the bag of cornflakes out of the box and began to
crush it.
He didn't know why but the cornflakes tasted better to him when they
were nothing but crumbs. He also liked them that way because he could
get more in the plate.
Having done that he took the powdered milk out of the cupboard.
"I won't mix it up properly" he thought as he put a large spoonful
of it on top of the cornflakes.
"It's George's turn to wash up today and i want this to set like
cement, just to make it all the more harder to clean." he added as he
poured hot water over the powdered milk.
"Anybody home?" a familiar voice called out as the owner of the
voice tapped on the loungeroom window.
"Oh,hang on,Mark" yelled Brian,feeling a little ****** that Mark
always showed up just as he was about to eat.
"What can i do for you?"'he asked.
"I have an appointment today.Could you lend me $2 for bus fare?"
"lend you $2 for bus fare? Brian repeated.
"Didn't you tell me just yesterday that yiu spent $70 on dvds?"
"Well,i wanted them" said Mark.
"I am afraid i don't have $2.I have nothing till my next payday"
Brian lied.
"Sorry!"
"Is your brother around?" Mark asked ,hopefully.
Brian was beginning to lose his temper. "No,he isn't!"
"You have a serious problem,Mark. You are addicted to dvds and you
need to get help.".
"I'm NOT addicted to dvds!" he protested.
"Then why are you here?" Brian almost shouted.
"if you had bought one less dvd yesterday you would have your bus
fare today. If you bought 2 less dvds a week you wouldn't have to
take from charity like you do.
Those charities are supposed to be there for the needy,Mark.
They are NOT there to finance your dvd collection,
Now,if you don't mind,i'd like to eat my breakfast" he said as he
showed Mark the door, giving him a little shove-right into George who
was just coming in.
"Oh,hi Mark.How are you,big fella?"
"Could you lend me $2. for bus fare? I have an appointment"
"Oh,all right!"
The End
