You need to cross a river in a boat. You have with you :
a fox,
a goose, &
a bag of beans.
The boat can only take one of these at a time. If left unattended, the fox eats the goose and the goose eats the bag o'beans.
Get all three and you across the river.

He took the goose over first and came back. Then he took the fox across and brought the goose back. Next he took the corn over. He came back alone and took the goose.
