Tiswas was one of the first Saturday morning childrens television shows. In fact it started quite a trend! It was very very long running and has most definitely entered into the national unconscious. It actually ran from 5 January 1974 to 3 April 1982. 8 years!It had a very loyal following not just with children, but also with students and parents.In fact you can see how popular it was by looking at what presenters are still around today! I wasn't old enough to watch this when it was going out. Do they still have Saturday morning kids TV? The last one I can remember was SM:TV. That was great for my student mind recovering from the after effects from alcohol back in the day.
