  • The Muppet Show

The Muppets were a revolution in my brain as a child. They were the funniest thing I could remember and when the music started up as I sat in front of the TV screen and saw them all walking and singing the opening theme songs I can still remember the excitement I felt:

It's funny how in my little mind I have always seen the Muppet show as being more of an 80's program, but looking it up on the web tonight was very surprised to see it was mostly a 70's program. So I would of been about 10 when it first appeared with season 1 in 1976.The funny thing is I can remember always eagerly awaiting the following show on the following week, and it must of been one of those rare occations that the whole family actually gathered in front of the telly. It must of been lightyears ahead of its time for me to place it mentally into the 80's.Really shows how the mind can play tricks. It may of been that the program is still just so fresh in the memory after all these years with many sketches still very easy to remember.Hmmm!.......time to revisit the muppets on dvd I think.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is one of the best films ever made in my opinion.

Our family was like yours batty - we all sat down together to watch the Muppet Show. They had loads of really big stars on who always seemed to be happy to be upstaged by the Muppets.
