  • A Clockwork Orange

A Clockwork Orange was a tale of Alex and his Droogs getting up to all kinds of teenage kicks. Sex, drugs and ultra violence. The characters regularly partook in dressing up in the height of teenage fashion and listening to Beethoven whilst indulging in all sorts of real horrorshow antics. A Clockwork Orange was a film by Stanley Kubrick based on the book by Anthony Burgess of the same name and spawned a host of Droog lookalikes on the streets of Britain post Skinhead in the early 1970's

They sang Singing in the Rain whilst kicking a homeless tramp sleeping in the subway. One of the reasons it was banned

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

                      Fun Facts:

-- Alex's father was played by Phillip Stone who also played Grady in Kubrick's "The Shining".
-- One of the mind control drugs used on Alex is called Serum 114, an oblique reference to "Dr Strangelove*".

*In "Dr Strangelove" the damaged communication device which prevents the B-52 piloted by Slim Pickens from receiving the order to turn back was called a CRM-114

The bands Heaven 17 and Moloko took their names from the film (or book)
