Guns 'n' Roses were a product of the LA Trash Metal scene and hit the ground in the UK back in 1987 with some shows at The Marquee in London and made an immediate impact culminating in the release of Appetite for Destruction in August 1987. It wasn't until 1998 that things started to happen in the US and shortly after that the UK as well. One of the most immediate records of that year was "Sweet Child o' mine" and that summer they were 2nd on the bill for the "Monsters of Rock" festival at Castle Donington.Some of you may remember this for the tragic death of 2 fans during the crush at the start of their set.
