    Through the decades, tank-tops have gained a bit of a stigma as being, well, rather naff! Coloured tank-tops were back in fashion in the early-80s, but when they were worn originally most of the time you got your mum or nan to knit one for you specially. The 70s saw huge popularity in tank-tops and you'd get them in all kinds of garish colours and patterns. These days, they're rather more sedate.

    Apart from having to have garish, clashing colours in horizontal stripes on your tank top, they also had to be teamed with checked oxford bags and brightly coloured platforms for the full fashion statement in the 70s!
