Donkey jackets were an 80s trend. Bought from Millets, young, inventive fashionistas used to customise them, which consisted of emboidering a large design on the back with the brightest coloured threads (mine had an ice-cream design on it!). Often, donkey jackets also featured a scattering of sequins for a bit of sparkle. We thought we looked the bees-knees, sauntering about the school playground.
