Most of us are unsure as to who or what encouraged this craze. It was like Boy George's Culture Club meets Madonna's Like A Virgin style. More lately, you may well associate the spiral perm with a pair of 'now then, now then' shellsuit-wearing Liverpudlian Harry Enfield And Chums characters. But how did one achieve suc a dramatic spiral, you may well ask? Well, the perm rollers were put into the hair vertically rather than horizontally.
