One of the staples of summer fetes when we were all younger was the bouncy castle, (along with the coconut shy, bowling and a real life buckaroo.) Begging to go on it was also part of the summer festival season.

Bouncy castles were great and back in the day it always was a castle. The same castle. Orange, yellow and black with the brick shapes painted on it and the four turrets - my memory is a bit hazy on the detaills but you know the one I mean. Occasionally you came across a covered in bouncy dome thing with windows, but they were pretty rare. I remember feeling the air coming through the seams under my feet.
