The Popular Mechanics were a range of books dating back to the early 1900 with instructions on 'How to' construct wireless outfits, boats, camp equipment, aerial. gliders, kites, self-propelled vehicles engines, motors, electrical apparatus, cameras and hundreds of other things which delighted every boy. These were complete with illustrations and were a good read for anyone mechanically or even historically inclined.
