Booker Newbury III was the lead singer in the soul group 'Sweet Thunder' in the mid 1970's, with hits like "Baby I Need Your Love Today" before going solo with his top 20 hit single "Love Town" in 1983 after signing with Casablanca Records.Newbury was born on the 19th January 1956 in Youngstown, Ohio.
