The Thin Blue Line was a police themed sitcom of the 90s starring Rowan Atkinson set in a fictional police station called 'Gasforth'. It was written by Ben Elton, and arrived with a lot of pomp as the "next Blackadder". It lasted for 2 series on the BBC, being made from 1995 - 1996. It's tone was similar to Dad's Army, in it's characters and the farcical elements.
