Re: First ever single you bought??

This is a funny thing, I never bought any singles in the 70s or 80s because we didn't have a record player. All music I owned was on tape, usually recorded off the radio, or Greatest Hits bought compilations. I think the first singles I bought were cassette singles in the early 90s, so it's not gonna be too embarrassing, I do recall buying 'Das Boot' by U96 and 'Goodbye' by The Sundays, which I just taped to tape to join other tracks. I bought all The Sundays singles from 'Goodbye' onwards because I wanted the b-sides, they're the only band of whom I now own *everything* they ever recorded.

Point taken. It would only be relevant if listening to 70's, 80's or 90's music.

Perhaps we should have a thread "What are you listening to right now?". That would be interesting.

Oooh you've reminded me of Bill Nelson's "Do You Dream in Colour?" I drove my parents mad playing that over and over again cos I thought it was so good.

    Brilliant single.. brilliant album!
(Red Noise that is, or Bill Nelson's Red Nose as the Music press of the day used to call it)

It was probably "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind & Fire and The Emotions.

Shortly after that, it was probably "Revolt Into Style" by Bill Nelson's Red Noise, which was on bright blue vinyl. And thus began a short-lived collection of multi-coloured records.....
