Anyone remember Laurie Andersons O Superman? Ow-ow-ow-ow...thats the one!
Ok - but do you remember a satirical take off of it? My memory is of two men chatting to a woman who may have been a wife.
#(I was wandering) if you and me, and him
Could go for a lemonade shandy?
No?
Forget it!
[Chorus] Oh what a terrible (sound, row or noise), driving us mad (but could have been making us sad...)
Oh what a terrible (sound, row or noise but different from above, I think), driving us mad
With a lot of ooh ooh ooh what a drag....#
It ended something like
#I've got it now-ow-ow
Well don't give it to me-e-e-e-e #
Think it was played a couple of times by Steve Wright and it must have been around the time of Laurie Andersons song for it to have worked, so thats 1981.
Also...(sorry!)
A Scottish version of some sort of cowboy song - think it was Rawhide since I distinctly remember mention of East Kirkbride... Could have been a b-side of something since I heard it played by Mike Read one morning seemingly by mistake.
Don't think it was the b-side of the Boys Don't Cry single I Want To Be A Cowboy (1986), but great song all the same.
Anybody...?
