    Re: Cowboy Gun Game?

Hi, I know this post is old but I was curious about this game and ended up googling it as only yesterday I came into possession of the very game you were talking about. As yet I haven't gotten around to fully checking it out but I can tell you it very old and has a green and sandy coloured box. When I get round to it I'll get a photo for you.

Just noticed the images. Awesome, I guess the blues and the greys were in relation to the American civil war???

Just registered to this forum after searching internet for Ambush, so glad to read people are interested in it, best thing is I'm sat looking at the game in a box in my girlfriend's living room. I just got it back off my ex wife yesterday. Details are; AMBUSH, SHERIFFS AND OUTLAWS, Under licence from Seven Towns made by Condor Toys Limited. This is the best game ever made and the memories it inspires mean more to me than anyone will ever know. I'll try and get pictures uploaded. Not very IT literate.

Waaaheeyy! Well done that girl! That is the baby! I think you're right about the figures though and I'm sure mine had grey guns.

Thanks again for all your efforts, you're all living legends.

Oh Wow, Heather! Well done for keeping an eye out!

Interesting: unless there was another version (unlikely?) my memory gave me black and brown figures, not blue and grey, which may show the weakness of memory.
But the box photo on the Armada game was noticeably different in detail from the contents. I suspected the box art was from a prototype.
Might the same thing have happened here? I'd have to find an Armada box to be sure, to check against my memory.
    It's these lttle mysteries...

I searched BBG for all "cowboy", "outlaw", etc games but came up short.
I only found KOTS whilst searching old American Wishbooks. Saw the layout seemed the same so hoped ideal had marketed the Cowboy thing too, but nothing was found.
Condor games on the Original box, gave me nothing

    I shall search on.

    Nice find!
That is the same game (apart from not using the same moulds!) but the American version, it would appear, with a different name.
I wonder if there was also an American and a British version of the cowboy game, also giving us two names: "Sheriffs (Deputies?) and Outlaws" and "Ambush"?

I might be able to think up new search variations from that.

Slightly tangential, but this Ideal game looks to be very similar to Armada.

    King of the Sea

Sadly I checked to see if Ideal made a similar Cowboy game, but turned up nothing

If it is "Ambush" it is going to be tricky to hunt for, as Armada was: too many overlaps.
I already have a set of board games (excellent) from the 80's called Ambush. (Avalon Hill/Victory Games)
Hehehe. Yep, you've got it. I'd even forgotten about those dotted lines, ah, memories. Getting nostalgic over dotted lines, who'd have thought it?!

I re-read your first post and I see what you mean now, as in it was advertised on the back of 'Ambush', I didn't quite grasp that at first.

Well, if I do find it I'll get you all over for a game. In the meantime I'll be on Modern Warfare 2. Which, obviously, isn't anywhere near as good!

If you do find any pics please post them.

    Cheers chaps!
