  • What was this one called?

Wondering if anyone else remembers this game or knows what it is called so that I can track it down...i loved playing it when I was at school and it a fit of Retro rashness, fancy having another go

A history sort of game. The aim was to build a Motte and Bailey castle. You had to manage resources like Saxon workers and Norman guards. You had to have people cut wood and dig the ditch, etc, and allocate the right amounts of people to do all the jobs otherwise your workers would starve or run off, etc.

    Anyone help?

sound similar to warcraft, the pc game from blizzard entertainment.

although the characters were orcs and humans and the object was to build an army, including forts, barracks, shipping ports etc.

warcraft was a pretty cool game - i loved it!

Nah, this wasn't nearly as recent as that, we are talking basic graphics. Shame. Pah

I don't know if i'm thinking of the same game but my buddy had a computer game back in the mid 80's where it took place in medieval times and you roamed the country side building an army. You had to be careful because you had to have enough food and some would desert you. Sometimes you would come across a party of people and you were prompted "Do you want to parley?".

For the life of me, i can't remember the name of the game or what system it was played on. Perhaps Commodor 64?

Sounds similar to Age of Kings but that was about 1998

          Age of Empires pre-dates it
