Speccy was my first computer and I absolutely adored it! Spent countless hours playing Fairlight, Three Weeks in Paradise, Rolling Thunder, Jet Set Willy and many other great games. Those were the days!

Re: do you love the zx spectrum
one game i remember was the untouchables every time u won a stage the following stage would load before u could play it.
i dont mind waiting for the games to load i get a real nostalgic trip out of it.
its amazin after so long these games load first time most times on my 128k.

I had a 48k model, so all those large games were multi loaders, i.e. you had to load each level.
However, I will always love the Spectrum, although I do tend to emulate these days, as I have no patience for loading, I must have wasted weeks of my youth (in total) waiting for all those games to load.
Does anybody remember a game called 'Soft & Cuddly' ?

Now, come on. Why hasn't making your own compilations been mentioned yet?
I knew using tapes to load had their faults (such as being chewed up, becoming loose, snapping, becoming twisted, the loading times, etc) but wasn't the infamous microdrive far less reliable?

amazingly i still have the patience for the games to load.
i just love watching them load.
perhaps one reason you emulate is you do not want to wear the speccy out.

Re: do you love the zx spectrum
When I work out how, I'll have to put a silent simulation of a scpectrum animation simulation I did up.
I did it usising Xara Photo And Graphic Designer 7 (It wouldn't let me put sound in) but I reccomended it to anybody who wants an alternative to Paintbrush.
