If (like me) you've been living under a rock - you'll have missed the astounding news that David Braben (co-creator of the original Elite space trading / combat sim) has opened a Kickstarter venture - to remake Elite for today's computers - called Elite: Dangerous.
There's less than 2 days to get on the bandwagon and fund this Magnum Opus - and -0 if the developer diaries and media hoopla anre anything to go by - it'll be worth it. If you want this gem to be kept alive - hop on over to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...lite-dangerous and make a pledge - there's links to the Frontier website also so you can read more.
PS - I'm nothing to do with either Kickstarter or Frontier Developments - I'm just an Elite nut that REALLY wants to see this get off the ground!
