      Re: Nintendo SNES

I've got the SNES (or, in my case, a Japanese Super Famicom) set up in my son's room at the mo. We're battling our way through Yoshi's Island. Such a great game.

I got the Japanese version because I couldn't wait Got it in November 1990, nearly a year and a half before the UK got the SNES. If by plug you mean the power lead then yes, I ran it off a voltage step down for ages but as the power supply isn't in the machine you can run if off of a normal UK SNES power supply. The other advantage was that it ran full screen and full speed. The UK SNES was locked to 50Hz and had nasty borders.

Oh, and on a very nerdy note, the Japanese boxes had amazing artwork

I remember a shop in the Manchester Arndale (microworld anybodY?) that sold import SNES games and My brother had a few on his (Cosmo Gang And Super Bubble Buster Brothers and Final Fight) and I even had a go on the japanese version of Parodius.

BTW you can play English versions of the above on a superb SNES emulator which you can download free (SNES9X) from WWW.COOLROMS.COM AND they even work with an XBOX 360 controller.

                  Re: Nintendo SNES

Yep, still got the SFC with it's box and loads of games. I worked on a Super Nintendo mag in the '90s so I've got a real soft spot for it and it's probably my favourite machine. I wish I had the room to have all the old games stuff out - Speccy, BBC, Amiga, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PlayStation etc. - but I'm just down to the PS2, SFC and Gamecube in my son's bedroom and a Vectrex tucked away on a desk. Eventually, I keep on telling myself, I'll have a 'study'.

But I had also a Ninja Turtles game (donīt remember the name of the game) - The best game you can play in coop! Unfortunately I've lost it ....

Get yourself over to www.coolroms.com . You might find it (and a few old faves). Believe me, it's worth it and i suggest SNES9X for free download from the same saite and they even work woth an xbox360 controller.

Just saw this video today. It features the NES rather than the SNES but it's still good fun.

I still have my snes, was playing it last week!

                        But I only have:

                        Super Mario All Stars
                        Super Mario World
                        Super Metroid
                        Mario Kart

And SMW and MK I only got a couple of years ago, I used to hire games from the video shop rather than buy them.

No, I was never bothered about games for it, and I've got the ones I want, but if I did ever want any I'd get them now on the VC on the Wii.
