Re: What do you collect?
Most of my Hot Wheels are from the '90s and in the original packaging though I have a few that are open.

I particularly like the friction, battery-operated and windup tin car models from the '30s through the '60s.Originally posted by darren View Postvery impressive mate.
the vintage toysu say u collect what are they mate..
it could be so many different toys as its over the space of six decades.
have a few coins myelf i collect.
In front is a windup 1939 vintage Examico 4001 by Schuco and in back is a friction-powered '53 Cadillac made in the '70s.

Here's a view of Schuco showing the windup key

Bonus Pic
Hot Wheels from the '70s (centre), '80s (left) and '90s (right). One of the Hot Wheels I'm looking for is a double decker bus that was made in France in the '80s and sold only in Europe.

Re: What do you collect?
Nah, not really. I only buy stuff from ebay if its relatively cheap. And I buy a few items here and there, but not huge amounts.you must have spent tons of money.
And to be honest, half the stuff on the list is stuff I bought a few items of and then stopped because I bought what I wanted.
I also buy original items only, so self-made items are of no interest.
The TV adverts, advertising memorabilia, postcards of Ayrshire, wrappers/crisp packets (very occasionally), the odd classic but forgotten/obscure films and TV series/sitcoms
the odd classic British children's tv, and the memorabilia based on those classic films, tv series or children's TV are the ones I still buy.
With Glasgow Rangers, its the odd book and old top in mint condition. I dont really bother with Rangers badges or smaller memorabilia.
I have bought all the (few bits of) Marvin the Martian memorabilia, all the old issues of the TV and Radio Times on CD/CDR that I want.
I still collect Buzby memorabilia occasionally.
And to be honest, I own a few bits of Bond memorabilia and Clockwork Orange memorabilia. But not much.
Carry On film memorabilia I still buy on occasion if its rare.

Re: What do you collect?
If someone can do up their entire house with articles and furnishings from the 1940s, the '70s and '80s shouldn't be very difficult.Originally posted by Llamarama View PostI do have a cunning plan though to furnish my future flat entirely in stuff from the late 70s/early 80s, even down to the MK5 Cortina outside. My idea was to dissuade burglars into thinking theres nothing worth taking, but if the price of vintage homewares sky rockets, i'm done for!

When I think of a '70s house, shag carpeting, macramé wall hangings and decoupaged bullfight posters come to mind.

Originally posted by tony ingram View PostWith me it's mainly comics (I have about 28, 000 currently, though I also deal in comics so a couple of thousand are stock) and Doctor Who (I have every surviving episode plus most of the original novels and audio dramas, the 60s movies and the various spinoffs and assorted toys and memorabilia) but also vintage toys (mostly action figures) and cult TV shows on DVD and video. My wife shares my obsession with collecting so our house is kind of like a museum...
28, 000? * passes out *
