Thanks Sixtyten. Well, there you go, my early claim to fame there.

I forgot to mention that I also drew my avatar in biro as well.

I looked that up Austin - wow, I didn't realise you were a professional. Great to see your early success too. Thanks sixtyten.

The funny thing is, I became such a childhood expert with a biro, that I still illustrate with one now. Have a look online for a book called 'For A Successful Life' by author Bas Haring (published by Beautiful Books in 2008) - the cover illustration of a man on a faraway beach in swimming trunks and tie making a sand office block was drawn by me. It's in colour, but before I coloured it I drew it out first in biro. The book is also full of black & white cartoons also by me, drawn entirely in biro.

What made me smile was the fact that you did it in biro. Why did we always used to do that as kids? Or was it just me and Austin Maxi?

What a shame. I've still got it somewhere, but I don't know exactly where it is at the moment, and I've never posted a photo on here.

    How incredibly annoying.
I assumed that the Eagle we wanted was 195, as that how an Ebay seller had laid out a selection of consecutive mags (192-199). Counting across gave me 195 as the issue I was after, but after tracking down Issue 195, its not the right one.
    Still searching

I was 13 when I drew the picture (in biro pen), and at the time I lived near Chatham in Kent - in Walderslade, actually, but I was credited in the caption as being from Chatham.

I can't believe I'm getting excited about seeing the inside page of Eagle and Tiger comic

That's the one. It featured a double-page 'Luck Of The Draw' and my drawing was top of the second page.

I think I got the date wrong, it must've been about 1986.
