Help! What was it called.....?!

I know this is a long shot, and my description may be a bit vague....
But i really need to know the name of this toy....

It was a furry monkey, with plastic/rubber hands & face.

He had a little cap on (think it had an "M" or an "R" on it).

Some of them had suckers attached to a bit of string so you could stick them to things.

He was able to suck his thumb by puttin his thumb into the little hole where his mouth was.

I think it was made by "Russ"

If anyone can help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I had a monkey similar to that called Jacko. He used to suck his thumb, don't think he had a hat though (this would have been in the 60's so he might have acquired a hat later!)

The toy gorilla by Russ was called 'Gonga'.
He came as an adult and baby versions.
The adult could also put his big toe in his mouth!

I think i might be onto something now.....found these pics and they look almost identical...i think these were the 70's ones, they must have updated him in the 80's with a cap and waistcoat....he was made by applause and it seems he is called "Rodney".
