Mystery Construction-Themed Toy

I seem to remember a toy or a game from the '70s that consisted of either a wind-up or battery-operated builder who ran on a multilevel track representing a building site or some such. The object of the game was to facilitate his passage from top to bottom or vice versa without him from falling over the edge. Does anybody remember this?
