  • Steer n go

Hi all, does anyone remember "steer n go" by matchbox?

Ill try my best to discribe it...you had a small dashboard, steering wheel, ingnition and gear and break lever....then there was a plastic verticle disc which formed a 3d road of the country side...underneath was an arm with a magnet and small bulb at the end (the bulb put a small light on the road so you knew where to place your matchbox car) you got your Matchbox car and turned it over yo clip on a magnet between the front wheels...then you place it on the other magnet on the arm.

You drove the car around course....the round disc moved around.

Sorry its not a very good detail....this toy was late 1970s...i got it from a catalouge and remember the price was about £17.50.

Hope someone else remembers this toy.

    Thanks Terrier.

      Re: Steer n go

I had a thing for steering wheels (although I yearned more for an aircraft cockpit toy to be honest), and that one looked great, but I think by the time I spotted one, I already had a rather large steering wheel toy MINUS the car and disc. Ah memories.

Actually, no. It was rubbish looking back. Without the notion that you're actually steering something, what was the point? That and it had a square base so it dug into your thighs.

Dad, you should have bought me a Steer n Go. Cheap get.
