I mentioned on the Des O'Connor obituary thread that both he and Russ Abbot had appeared in a Castella cigar advert back in 1990 (the one where Abbot puts a Des record on and puts the speaker into the pond to catch fish, which leap out of the water and into the net). Whether Des and Russ were both cigar smokers is anyone's guess however...

Mike Baldwin in Coronation Street - one of his catchphrases when he was either in the Kabin or Corner Shop back in the 1980s or early 1990s was: "a packet of my cigars, please".
